McGEE BANNED AND DONEGAL FINED €7,500 FOLLOWING KERRY ENCOUNTER

first_imgNeil McGee after Sunday’s bloody encounter.Donegal have been fined €7,500 and Neil McGee given a one match ban following last Sunday’s bruising encounter with Kerry.The GAA’s Central Competitions Committee met today to discuss last Sunday’s bloody league encounter in Tralee.Kerry have also been fined €7,500 but no Kerry player received a ban. Gaoth Dobhair man McGee was involved in a heavily-publicised encounter with Kerry’s Alan Fitzgerald.The Kerry player was given a red card after striking McGee following a scuffle with the Donegal.Fitzgerald has claimed that his hand had been pulled and had gestured to the umpires but he was still given red-card while McGee was brought off to receive attention to his bloodied nose.CCC bosses reviewed video evidence of the incident and have decided to hit McGee with a one game ban.
